Responding to bushfires

This section introduces the theme of responding for bushfires in the context of safety messages, for children between 4 and 5 years of age and may be used with students in Prep. It explores ideas of what people do in a bushfire event, including how people report emergencies using Triple Zero (000), and the important role firefighter play in protecting and helping people during bushfires.

How do we report an emergency to Triple Zero (000)?

Learning intention:
Children will be encouraged to further explore how they report an emergency to Triple Zero (000). This lesson will help children understand the questions asked by the operator and how to respond effectively when making a Triple Zero (000) emergency call.
